Visions at SDCC Malaga
My experience at SDCC Malaga. Star Wars Visions and more!

Hi team!
I spent the weekend in Malaga at the San Diego Comic Con Malaga... yes, I know, it's odd but, you know what? It works. It was the San Diego Comic Con vibe in lovely Spain and what an event it was. We were there representing Cartoon Saloon as part of the Star Wars Visions family, with director Paul Young taking part in a panel along with Sith director Rodrigo Blaas, The Duel director Takanobo Mizuno and The Elder director Masahiko Otsuka. Both Mizuno-san and Otsuka-san are directing epsiodes for Star Wars Visions Volume 3 so this wonderful panel brought together Volumes 1, 2 and 3 for the very first time.

Paul talked about our experiences on Screecher's Reach, our Volume 2 episode, and it was fantastic to hear from the other directors about their work and how they approached their own stories. We all brought different points of view to that project and that's something that I think makes Star Wars Visions so unique.
A special treat of the event was getting to see some brand new footage from Volume 3. I won't spoil what was shown but I will see the crowd reaction was huge. Mizuno-san's episode is a follow up to his Volume 1 story, featuring the popular Ronin character. Otsuka-san is telling an all new original story. And I'm so excited for both of them.

Star Wars Visions Volume 3 drops on the 29th of October, Disney+. Look out for it!
While I was there, I got to see the Predator Badlands panel where they showed some exclusive footage from that. I loved Prey so I'm looking forward to this new one. But unfortunately I couldn't make the Tron Ares panel. I'm a big Tron guy so I was sorry to miss that but it was for the best reason: spending time with the Visions directors and producers and making new friends in the process.

It was also great to attend a Production I.G retrospective panel and hear from the Ghost In The Shell producer Mitsuhisa Ishikawa as well as video messages from director Mamoru Oshii. What an incredible body of work they have been a part of. Truly inspirational. I feel like I need to rewatch Ghost In The Shell as soon as possible.

So I got to spend time with some incredible people, wonderful talents and people making it all happen. Thank you to the organisers of San Diego Comic Con Malaga and to Lucasfilm for this event. A lovely experience.
I hope you've been enjoying my Star Wars Visions Memories. The next one is dropping very soon. Until then!
